Testimonials

For lovers of craft beers, not to be missed

stars

“A very enjoyable trip to McGilĺs brewery outside Waterville. Joe went into great detail explaining the brewing process for each of the beers produced and also the stories behind the names of the beers. Generous samples of beers were offered along with recommendations of places to visit in the area. Great to see a local brewery producing good quality beers.”

Top notch micro brewery!

stars

“What a great place to visit. Joe and his family have put their hearts and souls into this endeavour. His enthusiasm and energy are plain to see from the minute you meet him at the door of the brewery. An added bonus is the quality of the beers. All gorgeous but my favourite is the Maude Delap red ale. I’d recommend a visit here to anyone who’s in the area. If you’re a beer drinker you won’t be disappointed.”

You’ll have craic!

stars

“Joe and Mags had a warm welcome for us, fielded a lot of questions and answered with craic.  We were a pre booked stag and they handled us with gusto. Beers were good, it’s a small location, ask questions and you’ll have craic.”

“Our visit to McGill’s micro brewery was brilliant. My daughter really wanted a brewery experience where we were greeted by John taken through the brewing process, provided with a variety of varies tasters and were made to feel so welcome and the banter was brilliant!”

Fantastic experience

stars

“The brewer Joe loves the art of brewing and it shows. Ales and beers with stories attached and relevant to the spectacular ring of Kerry. This brewery is very likely the smallest commercial craft brewery in Ireland. I have tasted spirits, wine, beer, ales and all kind of alcoholic beverages all over the world and trust me you won’t be disappointed if you visit Joe’s brewery.”

Follow your dream!

stars

“Great experience for groups, stag and hen parties. Joe is a great host and brewing is his passion. He is full of stories and anecdotes that make a visit a memorable experience. You can’t help admire Joe for following his dream and giving up a career in investment banking to open a brewery in beautiful Waterville. You will want to bring back a few bottles of their great beer so you can relive the experience. Don’t miss it!”

Must do in Ring of Kerry

stars

“We had a very interesting time together with Joe, the owner and heart of McGill‘s. We tasted the latest Skellig Monk Blonde and the Dark Sky Reserve Stout. You really taste that both are made with heart and a lot of true craftsmanship. Joe, all the best for the future and keep on the good work and continue with your enthusiasm and explorer mindset! Hope to come back or taste your products in the near future!”

Great micro brewery

stars

“Joe, you were an awesome host to my friend and I! I seriously could have stayed and talked to you for another hour! First, this place is a micro brewery, but between Joes intro video, his beer, and himself, it makes stopping worth it if you’re in Kerry or doing the Ring of Kerry. I’ve done a few Brewery tours, but because how small it is, it felt personal and more in touch then the bigger tours like Guinness…”
